About the book: 1973 / The novel "Oblomov", having won enormous success, provoked heated debate. Supporters of one opinion interpreted Oblomovism as a symbol of the inertia of Russia with a “completely inert” and “apathetic” protagonist of the novel. Others saw in the novel a philosophical understanding of the Russian national character, a special moral path opposed to the vanity of all-consuming progress. Regardless of literary criticism, we have the opportunity to come into contact with the subtle psychological picture, the spiritual depth of the hero, the gentle humor and lyricism of the author.
