About the book: 1982 / The famous Soviet doctor, journalist and traveler Yuri Senkevich talks about an international expedition led by the prominent Norwegian scientist Thor Henerdal. The task of the expedition was to find out how far and for how long a reed boat could float in the ocean. The author introduces how the reed boat “Tigris” was built based on the model of ancient Sumerian ships, and an international team was selected, which included representatives of nine countries.
