About the book: 2018 / After the performance, the circus director had to entertain the sponsor guests in the restaurant across the street, and this entertainment unexpectedly dragged on until almost midnight. Coming out, he looked out of habit at the administration windows facing the street and discovered that the light was on in his own office. It was only then that he remembered that he had left a friend there from many years ago, to some extent even a pupil, promising to return in half an hour. Any reasonable person would have realized that sponsors and a restaurant would most likely last a long time. And, seeing that half an hour had passed, he would have gone to the circus hotel, handing over the key to the office to the janitor. Bad suspicions overcame the director - he ran across the street right in front of the trolleybus and burst into the reception area, where he froze in surprise - they barked at him from behind his own leather door with gold buttons. He certainly did not leave dogs in the office!
