About the book: 2021 / Vasily Grigorievich Yan (real name - Yanchevetsky; December 23, 1874 (January 4, 1875), Kyiv - August 5, 1954, Zvenigorod Moskovskoy region) - Russian Soviet writer. Born into the family of a teacher: his father came from a family of Volyn priests, after seminary and university he taught Latin and Greek at the gymnasium. In the 1920s he published mainly historical and adventure stories. Since 1927, under the pseudonym “V. Yan" published historical and local history articles about Turkestan in the magazine "World Pathfinder". The writer’s main work is the historical trilogy “Invasion of the Mongols,” which includes the novels “Genghis Khan” (1939), “Batu” (1942), and “To the Last Sea” (published in 1955, after the writer’s death).
