MediaDB / «Classes of nations. Feminist critique of nation-building" Elena Gapova: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2016 / The central themes of the collection “Classes of Nations” are new classes, nations and gender and their complex intersections in the post-Soviet region. The author examines how the interaction of these main categories of social organization is manifested in the “case” of the Pussy Riot group, in discussions around the story of Svetlana Bakhmina, in the “moral revolution” recorded in the books of Svetlana Alexievich, in clashes over “scientific truth” in the post-Soviet academy and in the situation of the wives of “Russian programmers” in America. The collection builds a multifaceted social panorama of postsocialism. Elena Gapova – Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology at Western Michigan University (USA), founder of the Center for Gender Studies at the European Humanities University (Minsk/Vilnius).
