These records, presented in full for the first time in this book, are supplemented by the memoirs of another extraordinary person - Ivan Savvich Brykin, who lived for more than a hundred years (1706–1821), eighty of which he was the caretaker of the imperial residence near Moscow. His memoirs contain everyday details of the lives of 10 Russian emperors, from Peter I to Alexander I, whom Brykin had the opportunity to see.
