About the book: 2014 / Sveta, my beloved girl, went to Sochi, and their session at the journalism department had not yet ended. Grisha wandered around Moscow, headed to the Foreign Library, but changed his mind and crossed the road to Illusion. The cinema was unusually empty; the cashier, exhausted from the heat, sold a ticket and pointed to some door. He stepped into a dark corridor, wandered for a long time through the underground labyrinths until he found himself in a brightly lit, crowded foyer. And suddenly he noticed: something is not right here, and the people are somewhat different... Some invisible time machine took him... to the year 75. All three stories included in this book have one thing in common: they are about time and people in it, about freedom and lack of freedom. The author puts the conversation on “eternal” topics in a grotesque and often parodic form, and irony and funny episodes sometimes coexist with “black” humor in the English spirit.
