Guderian’s catchphrase “Victory follows in the footsteps of tanks” became the main slogan of modern warfare for decades to come, heralding the beginning of a new tank era. During the Second World War, about 230 thousand tanks of various types and brands left the factory floors. It is simply impossible to understand all this diversity without a systematic approach. More precisely, it was impossible - before the publication of this unique encyclopedia. About a thousand photographs and diagrams, detailed information about 130 brands of light, medium and heavy tanks from 13 countries (not only their performance characteristics, but also analysis of combat use, and assessment of capabilities) - this fundamental work of a leading specialist in the history of armored vehicles has no equal neither in our country nor abroad.
