It is no coincidence that the resolution of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks dated July 15, 1929 “On the state of the country’s defense” spoke not only about the modernization of artillery, but also about its transfer to mechanical traction. Purposeful work on the creation of new types of domestic artillery tractors became possible after the adoption on March 22, 1934 of the resolution of the Council of Labor and Defense of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR “On the artillery armament system of the Red Army for the second five-year plan.” In the course of implementing this decision, all the machines that will be discussed below were built.
