About the book: 2017 / Summer 2014, the Ukrainian army is conducting a punitive operation in the South-East of Ukraine. Scattered militia units, suffering losses, are retreating to Donetsk, the city is under siege, thousands of refugees have left their homes. Ordinary guys are sent from different parts of Russia to help the militias. But leaving the cozy homes is half the battle; along the way they will encounter human greed, cunning and carelessness. Once in Motorola's detachment, they find themselves in the meat grinder of the front line. In between battles, the main characters reflect on pressing issues of our time: religion, education, the fate of veterans of hot spots. Will they be able to survive and return home after fulfilling their duty? The reader is given the opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of war, from the point of view not of a professional military man, but of an ordinary person like himself. There is no sugary patriotism or glorification of war as the meaning of life in this book.
