Boris, a quiet, downtrodden young man, lives with his mother, who despises her son and subconsciously takes revenge on the child for the betrayal of her husband (Boris's father) and his unsuccessful life. After an incident at school and a violent quarrel with his mother, Boris runs into the forest with the intention of committing suicide. But it turns out that he is not capable of this desperate step. Pursued by hunger and cold, the teenager decides to steal, but, taken by surprise, in a fit of anger he commits a ridiculous murder. This accidental murder seems to produce a revolution in his consciousness. From a kind, frightened boy, he turns into a serial killer.
