Japanese and German prisoners of war, Italians and Romanians, traitors of all stripes, Vlasovites and Banderaites, “forest brothers” from the Baltic states, Finns, Chechens and Ingush, repressed in 1944, men and women, children of enemies of the people - all this terrible human whirlpool was spinning in vast expanse of Siberia.
