About the book: 1894 / The world famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen, famous primarily for his fairy tales, wrote, among other things, several novels (some of which have not yet been translated into Russian, alas). The novel “Lykke-Peer” (“Lucky Peer”), written in 1870, was translated into Russian by Anna and Peter Hansen (thanks to whom Russian readers became acquainted with many of Andersen’s fairy tales). The translation was published under the title “Petka the Lucky One.” The novel tells about a young singer who, through great work and talent, achieved world recognition. But, unfortunately, his life was short-lived.
