About the book: 1970 / Stefan Kienevich's book "The Hermit of Brussels" has already been published twice in Poland - in 1960 and 1964. However, the Russian edition of the biography of Joachim Lelewel is in a certain sense the first publication: the entire life path of the outstanding Polish scientist, public and political figure is presented here for the first time. Sections of Lelewel's biography up to and including 1831 were written specifically for this publication. Previous Polish editions of the book covered only the emigrant period of Lelewel’s life and began with the section, which in this edition is the seventh.
