About the book: 1960 / Evgeny Ivanovich Osetrov was born in 1923. Studied at the Moscow Literary Institute named after. M. Gorky and the Academy of Social Sciences under the CPSU Central Committee. He was a participant in the Great Patriotic War. For over eleven years he worked in the editorial office of the Vladimir regional newspaper “Prizyv”. On trips to the cities and villages of the Vladimir region, Evgeny Osetrov became interested in studying architectural and historical monuments, archives and book depositories. E. Osetrova's stories about the cultural history of the Vladimir region were systematically published in periodicals. The book “Laura’s Branch” was compiled from these materials. These are stories, essays, sketches from the life and work of remarkable people or events that took place in the Vladimir region or in the Moscow region. E. Osetrov builds his stories on factual material; he spends a lot of work searching for documents, traces, and material evidence of a remarkable event. As a cultural researcher, he diligently accumulates lively, fascinating material, showing the romance of knowledge and the discovery of old secrets. He writes captivatingly, trying above all to be precise and clear. In addition to the collection “Laura's Branch” offered to the attention of readers, E. Osetrov is the author of the stories “Underground Treasures”, “First Meetings” and the book of fairy tales “Merry Dreams”. Currently E. Osetrov works in Moscow, in periodicals.
