About the book: 2019 / Summer 1945. On the northern outskirts of Moscow, Father Illarion, a priest of a local parish, was killed. By all indications, this is the work of gypsies hunting for church valuables. MUR detectives Ivan Startsev and Alexander Vasilkov are ready to accept this version, but there is one “but”: a button from an old Finnish officer’s uniform was found in the hand of the murdered priest. Gypsies do not have such clothes. A clue comes unexpectedly - a man dressed in a similar jacket turned up at the local hospital... The operatives follow the trail and soon find out that the murder of Illarion’s father is not an accident, but a planned revenge, the traces of which stretch all the way back to the beginning of the war…
