MediaDB / «The Foundling with the Dead “Cynthia”” Jules Verne, Andre Laurie: download fb2, read online
About the book: 1959 / “The Foundling with the Dead “Cynthia” is the only novel co-written by Jules Verne. Jules Verne's co-author is André Laury (pseudonym of Pascal Grousset), a famous publicist and active participant in the Paris Commune. This is the first time this work has been published as a separate edition in our country. The basis of the narrative is a description of Eric Gersebom's journey to the Arctic in the wake of Nordenskiöld's expedition and the circumnavigation of the novel's hero in Arctic waters. The novel “The Foundling of the Dead “Cynthia”” is distinguished by a fascinating adventure plot and an accusatory social orientation. The novel tells the story of a boy who accidentally survived a shipwreck, the development of his character and overcoming the difficulties and obstacles placed in his path by the American Tudor Brown, a representative of the predatory bourgeois world. To prevent the intelligent and energetic young man Eric Gersebom from learning about his family and homeland, Tudor Brown commits any crimes for selfish reasons. The images of ordinary people - Norwegian fishermen who replaced the foundling's parents - are drawn with great warmth. Drawings by G. Fitingof.
