The impetuous, honest Vasya, irreconcilable with callousness and indifference, firmly knowing what he wants from life, grows into a real leader of youth. Production difficulties, love dramas, illnesses, even the death of one of them - young people have to experience and overcome everything: they grow up in this struggle , achieve clean relationships in the team, grow into courageous builders of a communist society. The development and strengthening of new communist relations, views and feelings is the main theme of the novel. The action takes place against the backdrop of the remote Siberian taiga - harsh, still wild, but majestic.
