About the book: year / Semyon Vasilyevich Slepynin was a closed, secretive person and at the same time deeply decent and modest. For these reasons, the people with whom he maintained relationships knew little about him. He was born in the village of Olkhovka, Shadrinsky district, Kurgan region, on August 29, 1924. In the thirties, his parents moved to the city of Sverdlovsk, where they worked on the construction of the Uralmashplant. Memories of childhood and rural life will later be included in his novel “The Sphere of Reason.” In Sverdlovsk, the future writer completed 9 classes of high school, was called up to the front and fought in an artillery division. In 1948, after the war, he entered the Ural State University and received the profession of journalist. After graduating from university, he worked for the newspaper “Red Fighter” - the printed organ of the Ural Military District - and was part of the secretariat of this publication, and in the sixties he became interested in literature and cybernetics. Soon it became difficult for Semyon Vasilyevich to be torn between work and creative work, journalism and literature. After working for 16 years, he left the newspaper and chose to live on literary royalties, although he never joined the Writers' Union. Slepynin’s first story, “Farsany,” appeared in 1966 on the pages of the Ural Pathfinder magazine. Nine years later, his novel “Starry Shores” was published; this book was soon translated in Czechoslovakia. Slepynin's subsequent literary activity also turned out to be connected with the magazines "Ural" and "Ural Pathfinder", and the editor of the latter's fiction department, Vitaly Bugrov, was one of his few friends. In the last years of his life, Semyon Vasilyevich led a solitary life, was seriously ill and died from cancer. The exact date of his death could not be established. Contents: 1. Star Shores 2.
