  • MediaDB / «A sunken book. Reflections of Bahauddin, Rumi's father, on the heavenly and earthly" Walad Bahauddin: download fb2, read online

About the book: 2009 / The book was written by Bahauddin Walad (1152-1231), the father of the mystic poet Rumi. This is a collection of spiritual inspirations, questions and answers, conversations with God, comments on verses of the Koran, stories, poetic lines, revelations, medical recipes, gardening instructions, recordings of dreams, jokes, erotic episodes and thoughts on various occasions. Title “The Drowned Book” , given by the publisher, points to the legend of the meeting of two famous poets: Rumi and Shams. Jalaluddin Rumi talked with his disciples at a fountain in the city of Konya. The manuscript of his father Bahauddin lay open on the side of the fountain. Shams Tabrizi, passing by, threw this precious manuscript into the water. When asked by Rumi about the meaning of such an act, Shams replied: “The time has come to give life to the scriptures and words. Do you want me to return the book? Look!” Shams took Bahauddin’s manuscript out of the water, and there was not a drop of water on it.
