About the book: 1958 / FROM THE INSTITUTE OF MARXISM-LENINISM under the Central Committee CPSU. The Institute of Marxism-Leninism was entrusted with completing the publication of “The History of the Civil War in the USSR.” Currently, the Institute has prepared three further volumes. This 3rd volume examines the struggle of the working people of Soviet Russia against the interventionists and White Guards in the period from November 1917 to March 1919. The 4th volume covers the defeat of the armies of Kolchak and Denikin - the main proteges of the combined forces of international and domestic counter-revolution in 1919. The 5th (last) volume examines the struggle of the workers and peasants of the Soviet country against the invading troops of bourgeois-landowner Poland and Wrangel’s army, as well as the liquidation of the last centers of counter-revolution in Transcaucasia, Central Asia and the Far East (1920–1922). The Institute expresses its deep gratitude to all institutions, organizations and individuals who participated in the discussion and review of the volume, as well as to the Civil War participants who sent their memoirs. They will never defeat the people in whom the workers and peasants for the most part recognized, felt and saw that they are defending their own, Soviet power - the power of the working people, that they are defending that cause, the victory of which will provide them and their children with the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of culture, all creatures of human labor.
