MediaDB / «Happy sad holiday" Vasily Rozanov: download fb2, read online
About the book: 1923 / This short note by Vasily Vasilyevich Rozanov (written, as you might guess, for Easter 1918) was intended for an unpublished notebook of the Russian student magazine " Spring Waters". As far as I know, it was not published in Russia. The editor-publisher of “Veshniye Vody” Mikhail Mikhailovich Spasovsky cites Rozanov’s note in his memoirs about the writer. The first edition of the memoirs of M.M. Spasovsky was published in 1938 (Russian National Publishing House, Berlin). Thirty years later, Mikhail Mikhailovich completely reworked his notes, but kept “Happy Sad Holiday”. A new edition of Spasovsky’s book was published in New York (Vseslavyanskoye Publishing House, 1968). I think that Rozanov’s prophetic word - only now, on the eve of Easter in 2000, can be heard by a Russian Orthodox person, “in an empty, impassable and waterless land,” which responds to the nickname “Eref.” - “Russia must be built first, praying to God for one thing, that it be lethargy, not death.” “It’s scary to say, I would like to reject it, but I can’t.” (Yuri Miloslavsky)
