About the book: 1974 / Among the numerous dramatic radio broadcasts of the mid-30s, the small play “The Silver Dollar,” written by the young playwright Vic Knight, attracts attention. The title of the play is not accidental. This dollar, as a ghostly symbol of wealth and prosperity, crippling the souls and destinies of people, is present in every scene of the play. And there are many such small scenes - twenty-two, and in them there are about thirty characters, in whom the ill-fated coin passes from hand to hand. And each type in this kaleidoscope is different from the others, although it is characterized by only a few phrases. Moreover, all types are life-like, and it was precisely this quality that determined the success of the play - after all, it was aired for only fourteen minutes.
