About the book: 2003 / The published book is dedicated to the history of the creation and development of mainly Nazi airborne troops. It describes the organization of this new type of troops, and also analyzes various principles and methods of their combat use. The author describes in detail all the carried out and unconducted operations of the German airborne troops in the Second World War. In addition, he tries to generalize the experience of using airborne assaults by the armies of the United States, England, France, Japan and even the Soviet Union. In the last chapter, the author makes an attempt to show the role and significance of airborne assaults in the future. The Russian edition of the book is intended mainly for officers and generals of the Soviet Army.
