MediaDB / «CIA vs KGB. The Art of Espionage "Allen Dulles: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2000 / A professional intelligence officer and director of the CIA for a decade, Allen Dulles talks about the global confrontation between his department and the State Security Committee of the USSR, during which intelligence techniques were practiced and espionage, known since ancient times. “In the Soviet Union we have an adversary who has raised the art of espionage to unprecedented heights, developing new mechanisms of subversion and deception.” The Germans Sorge and Ressler, two Soviet spies, according to Dulles, provided the leadership of the Red Army invaluable information that largely anticipated the outcome of World War II. The arrest of superspy KGB Lieutenant Colonel Rudolf Abel occurred only thanks to the betrayal of his closest assistant. The Soviets refused it for a long time until evidence was presented. The “terrorist department” was always the most important unit of the Soviet foreign intelligence service and brilliantly instigated “accidents”. The Francis Powers spy plane was not the only one shot down over the territory of the USSR, but Khrushchev decided to use this particular incident to disrupt the Paris Peace Conference. The main enemy is the communist intelligence services, as Allen Dulles believed, and therefore his research is mainly devoted to exposing the intelligence activities of the KGB. The view of a person from the other side of the former “Iron Curtain” is the undoubted value of this book.
