About the book: 2014 / Everyworld - a game world that has everything. Or, a lot. The creators managed to collect many worlds of sword and magic under one roof. According to statistics, about ten thousand people die every year during sex. A happy death, perhaps. For one of the partners. What is it like for others? No one has specifically calculated how many people die while in the virtual world, but certainly no less. Death, in general, doesn’t care what you were doing at the time of his arrival, but sometimes it’s not so easy even for him to scratch a person out of the game world. And some, very few, having given up their lives, do not die for good, but remain in the game. Restless souls who do not remember anything about their past life and have lost the opportunity for rebirth. So they wander around the world in the form of ghosts not provided for by the program. However, a few manage to retain part of their own self and memories of a past life. They are the ones who get a second chance. The main character died while in the virtual world. Or rather, his body died, but part of his consciousness remained in the game. There is nowhere to return, and now every new level, every new friend, every new enemy, everything increases his chances of not completely dissipating, turning into a disembodied phantom even by the standards of the game.
